Country singer-songwriter Meghan Linsey and her boyfriend Joshua Scott-Jones formed the vocal duo Steel Magnolia in Nashville. They came to public attention as winners of the American TV Talent Show 'Can You Duet' in 2009. Following the show they were signed by Big Machine Records and released their debut single 'Keep On Lovin' You' which reached number five in the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart. They released their self-titled EP in 2010 followed by singles 'Just By Being You' and 'Last Night Again' in the same year. Their debut self-titled album was released in 2011. The album was extremely popular, reaching number three on the Billboard Hot Country Albums Chart and number seven on the Billboard 200. 'Bulletproof', the third single from the album, was released in 2011. In 2012, Jones announced that he was entering rehab. In order to keep to the tour dates to which the band were already committed, Linsey joined forces with James Otto for the remainder of the tour. The band left Big Machine Records in 2012 but announced that they were working on a new album. The album was never released and Steel Magnolia disbanded in March 2013. Both Linsey and Jones went on to pursue solo careers.
