Actress, author and playwright Stéphanie Blanchoud is also a French pop-folk singer. Born on September 26, 1981 in Uccle (Belgium), to a Swiss father and a Belgian mother, the artist grew up in Switzerland. She studied drama in Brussels, making her stage debut in 2003 and writing her first play in 2004. A jack-of-all-trades, Stéphanie Blanchoud released her first album, À Cœur Ouvert, in 2005, which enabled her to find her first dates in Belgium. She recorded her second album Insomnies (2009) with Jean-François Assy (Alain Bashung or Miossec). With her gentle voice, she expresses a certain nostalgia, a trademark that has enabled her to perform at numerous festivals in Belgium, Switzerland and Canada. In 2015, she released Les Beaux Jours, directed by Marcello Giuliani, giving it a more Anglo-Saxon sound. For Ritournelles (2021), Stéphanie Blanchoud swings between her folk guitar and synthesizer, taking her towards a more electro production. In January 2023, she appeared on the soundtrack of Ursula Meier's film La Ligne, where she sang the track "Le passé", in a duet with Benjamin Biolay.
