Yasser El Malih was born on February 14, 1997 in Rabat, Morocco. Growing up in a family with a musician brother in a metal band, Yasser El Malih quickly came into contact with the instruments and equipment needed for production. In 2014, when his brother's band broke up, the young Moroccan rap enthusiast dabbled with the machines at his disposal and became familiar with beats composition. Gradually, he began freestyling, before unveiling his first official sound in 2016 under the name Stormy, "Frank Castle". Influenced by American, Moroccan and Italian trap rap, the latter is heard on "Bravi ragazzi" (2017) and Stormy asserts himself with tracks that gather millions of listens: "Nsinahom" (2018) with Kouz1, "777" (2019) or "RRR3D" (2020). A new title, released in 2020, will consecrate the rapper from promise to figurehead of Moroccan rap, "Africain". As he exploded during the global covid-19 pandemic, Stormy found himself deprived of live concerts and gradually began performing live on the Internet. He went on to score a string of hits, including "Ou TT" (2020) and "Mizane " (2021), before teaming up with star Tagne for a collaborative album: Jackpot (2021). Gradually, Stormy's music began to be exported internationally, including to France, where he made his first public appearance at the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris in 2022.
