TAKEWON

Takewon, born Kim Tae-gyun (김태균) on December 7, 1991, is a South Korean rapper known for his introspective lyrics and sharp wordplay. He made his debut in 2015 under GRDL, quickly gaining recognition in the Korean hip-hop scene. Early in his career, Takewon established a reputation for blending socially conscious themes with personal storytelling, setting himself apart from mainstream trends. After leaving GRDL in 2018, he signed with Halftime Records in 2019, where he continued to refine his artistry. His discography showcases a mix of deep lyricism and experimental beats, with albums like Green Ideology (2016) and Commercial Art (2021) reflecting his evolving style. He has also released several notable singles, including "Last Station" (2021), "WON" (2022), and "Be Okay" (2022), which highlight his versatility as both a storyteller and performer. In 2024, Takewon continued to push boundaries with his latest single, "Underdogma", reinforcing his status as an independent and thought-provoking artist in the Korean hip-hop landscape.
