Takida is a rock band from Sweden founded in 1999. The founding members include singer Robert Pettersson, guitarist Tomas Wallin and drummer Fredrik Holm. With their mix of post-grunge, alternative rock and pop rock, the band initially enjoyed success in their native Sweden. By 2004, Takida had released several demos. The debut album Make You Breathe made it straight into the Swedish Top 10 in 2006 at No. 7. The band's breakthrough came with their second album Bury the lies (2007). The album jumps to the top of the Swedish charts and reaches platinum status. The single "Curly Sue" becomes a top hit. After that, all of Takida's releases hit number 1 in Sweden: The Darker Instinct (2009), The Burning Heart (2011), All Turns Red (2014) and A Perfect World (2016). Takida's international fame increased with the next album Sju. The longplayer reached number 5 in Sweden and also made it into the German charts at number 29. The follow-up Falling from Fame (2021) also reached top positions in Germany and Sweden. In 2024, Takida released their ninth studio album, The Agony Flame. The longplayer climbed to number 8 in Germany and reached number 12 in Sweden.
