Tampa Red

Born in Smithsville, Georgia, on January 8, 1904, Tampa Red (Hudson Woodbridge) became one of the great blues guitarists, renowned for his slide playing and nicknamed the "Guitar Wizzard". He inspired musicians such as Muddy Waters and Elmore James. He composed many classics, such as "Sweet Black Angel" and "Love Her With A Feeling". Depressed by the death of his wife in 1953, he sank into alcohol and died in oblivion in Chicago (Illinois) on March 19, 1981
