Formed in the year 2002, Tan Bionica is considered one of the most popular and influential bands of the Argentine pop-rock scene. Originating in Buenos Aires, the band consisted of singer Santiago “Chano” Moreno Charpentier, his brother Gonzalo “Bambi” Moreno Charpentier on bass, drummer Diego Lichtenstein, and guitarist Sebastián Seoane (and recurring contributor Germán Guarna on keyboards). Performing a catchy mix of synth-pop and alternative rock, the group took the airwaves by storm for over a decade with albums such as 2013’s Destinología, which spawned their biggest hit single “Ciudad Mágica.” A thumping nightclub favorite which served as a tribute to the Buenos Aires nightlife, the song quickly became the group’s signature song as well as an enduring summer anthem. Throughout the course of their career, the group released four highly successful studio albums, garnering fervent acclaim from audiences and critics alike, and even earning the prestigious Gardel de Oro award for their 2010 album Obsesionario. They collaborated with renowned artists from the Argentinian and international scenes, such as Fito Paez, Juanes, Miranda! and Moderatto. Three of their albums have been certified platinum. After the release of their fourth album, 2015’s Hola Mundo, the band went on hiatus, and both Moreno Charpentier brothers have embarked on solo careers.
