Seamlessly combining her soulful, old-school R&B influences with elements from EDM and hip-hop, American singer Tanya Nolan emerged on the scene in 2019 with her debut single "No Pressure." Born in Galveston, Texas, she began performing on the club scene at the age of 15 and continued to hone her songwriting skills throughout the years. Released in 2019, her first single "No Pressure" gained traction on R&B radio and was followed by popular singles such as the Rich the Kid-featured "Come Harder" and "All for You," both included in her 2020 eponymous studio debut. Later that year, a remix of "No Pressure" by Bruce Bang made it to the dance charts in the US. In 2021, her 2019 single "Smile on My Face" entered Billboard's New and Active chart for Adult R&B. Released in 2022, Tanya Nolan's hip-hop-infused single "My Best" entered the Top 30 of the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart at Number 29.
