Taraful Haiducilor means "band of bandits", but taraf is also the traditional name of lautaris (Romanian Gypsy musicians). Haiduc or haïdouk is a Turkish term meaning "bandit" in Romanian. Whether it's a wedding, a party or a street performance, the Taraf de Haïdouks have been playing their festive music since 1989. In 2015, Taraf de Haïdouks is still going strong despite the death of several of its members, and is releasing its seventh album Of Lovers, Gamblers & Parachute Skirts.
