Devon Allman is the son of Gregg Allman of The Allman Brothers Band. He met his father for the first time at the age of 16 and was invited to tour with him and the band. When he did this, he met Duane Betts, son of band member Dickey Betts, and Berry Duane Oakley Jr., son of Berry Oakley. After a lifelong career in music and a rich family influence and heritage, Allman assembled the Devon Allman Project in 2017, commencing a world tour with Betts as special guest. The tour was a success and Allman and Betts announced the formation of The Allman Betts Band. The band commenced a world tour in 2019 and sold out 12 of their first 18 shows. The launch of the band coincided with the 50th Anniversary of the self-titled debut release of The Allman Brothers Band. In addition to Allman, Betts and Oakley, the other band members also have long and distinguished musical backgrounds and have been involved with music making with many international names. The band's debut album 'Down to the River' (2019) featured former Allman Brothers Band and current Rolling Stones keyboard player Chuck Leveall and former Greg Allman Band keyboard player Peter Levin.
