Together or separately, the two Brecker brothers were the brass section that marked the end of the seventies and eighties. Together or individually, they recorded with some of the greatest names in jazz, rock and pop, to whom they brought the warmth of their saxophone and trumpet. Under the name The Brecker Brothers, their career was devoted to jazz-rock with a strong funk flavour. Brecker Bros. in 1975, Blue Montreux in 1978, Heavy Metal Be-Bop and the hit "East River" also in 1978, and Out of the Loop in 1994, are highly commendable. The duo ceased to exist with the death of Michael Brecker on January 13, 2007.
