佐野元春&THE COYOTE BAND

Sano Motoharu and The Coyote Band is a Japanese rock band led by legendary singer-songwriter Motoharu Sano. The lineup features Sano on vocals and guitar, Shigeru Komatsu on drums, Motoaki Fukanuma and Akira Fujita on guitars, Kei Takakuwa on bass, and Shunsuke Watanabe on keyboards. The project began in 2005 when Sano started recording sessions with Komatsu, Fukanuma, and Takakuwa, aiming to develop a fresh sound while staying rooted in classic rock influences. Their official debut as The Coyote Band came in 2007 with the concept album COYOTE, which marked a new chapter in Sano’s career. The group followed up with three more critically acclaimed studio albums: ZOOEY (2013), BLOOD MOON (2015), and MANIJU (2017), each showcasing their lyrical depth, tight arrangements, and Sano’s evolving artistic vision. In 2020, they released THE ESSENTIAL TRACKS MOTOHARU SANO & THE COYOTE BAND 2005–2020, a best-of compilation covering 15 years of their musical journey. In 2025, the band released an album titled HAYABUSA JET Ι, adding to their legacy with an energetic and sharp-edged rock number that highlights the band’s enduring creativity and chemistry.
