The Fray is a four-piece US indie rock band from Denver, consisting of school friends Isaac Slade and Joe King, who were later joined by Ben Wysocki, David Welsh and Slade's younger brother Caleb. The Fray released their first EP in 2002 under the name Movement, followed by Reason in 2003. This was followed by a record deal and work on their debut album How to Save a Life, which was released in 2005 and reached number 4 in the UK and number 14 in America. The first two singles in particular, "Over My Head (Cable Car)" and "How to Save a Life", contributed to the band's continued success. The first single, "Over My Head", already lands in the international charts and enters the top 10 of the Billboard charts. shortly afterwards, "How to Save a Life" reached number 3 in the Hot 100 charts and further international successes in the top 5 of many other countries. The second studio album, The Fray, is released on February 3, 2009 and contains the once again successful single "You Found Me", which goes quadruple platinum in the USA. With the albums Scars & Stories and Helios, released in 2012 and 2014, The Fray were unable to repeat their previous successes. After the best-of album Through the Years: The Best of Fray in 2016, the band went quiet. In September 2024, The Fray returned with the EP The Fray Is Back.
