The Gospellers

Gospellers are an a cappella singing group formed in Tokyo by singers Tetsuya Murakami and Kaoru Kurosawa in Tokyo in 1991. Some original members departed and they added singers Yujo Sakai, Yutaka Yasuoka and Yoichi Kitayama ahead of their 1995 eponymous debut album. Many albums followed over the next 20 years with 'What the World Needs Now' coming out in 2018 and 'Boys Meet Harmony' in 2019. They had a big hit with the 2000 single 'Towa ni' and their track 'Hitori' went to number three on Japan's Oricon singles chart in 2001. Their 2011 single 'Bridge' went to number ten on Billboard's Japan Hot 100, 'It's Alright (Kimi to Irudakede)' (2012) reached number 14 and 'Goswing' (2016) peaked at number 22. Many other singles followed including 'Hikari' (2018) and 'In This Room' (2018). They have released many DVDs and Blu-rays including several Zaka Tours with 'The Gospellers Zaka Tour 2018-2019 (What the World Needs Now)' coming out in June 2019. Their 2019 schedule was to include appearances at venues in Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong and across Japan.
