The Guy Hamper Trio

The Guy Hamper Trio is one of the many incarnations led by eccentric indie rock activist Billy Childish. An instrumental garage rock project with retro surf and soul influences, the trio features leader's wife Julie Hamper and drummer Wolf Howard. The name made its first appearance in 2009 with the track "Polygraph Test", released as a single and featured ten years later on the compilation Punk Rock ist nicht Tot! The Billy Childish Story 1977-2018. In 2022, the project was reactivated on a more regular basis, with a series of albums featuring organist James Taylor: All the Poisons in the Mud (2022), Man in the Mouth of a Cave, Vol. 2 (2023), Dog Jaw Woman (2024), Instrument of Evil (2024) and The Goddess Tree (2024). 2025 sees the release of the Chatham's Burning EP.
