The Hellacopters is a rock band from Sweden that was founded in 1994. The band is known for its fast, melodic hard and sleazerock. Classic rock 'n' roll elements are always mixed in. The founding members include former Entombed drummer Nicke Andersson as singer and guitarist as well as the three former Entombed roadies Kenny HÃ¥kansson on bass, Robert Erickson on drums and Dregen on guitar. He also plays guitar in the Swedish band Backyard Babies. In 1996, the band released their debut album Supershitty to the Max!, which went straight to number 32 in the Swedish charts. The follow-up Payin' the Dues climbed to number 19 in 1997, and the band's fame grew both at home in Sweden and internationally. Albums such as Grande Rock (1999) and High Visibility (2000) contribute to this. The Hellacopters' music even made it into the opening acts of the Rolling Stones and Kiss. With the albums By the Grace of God (2002, number 2 in Sweden) and Rock & Roll Is Dead (2005, number 3 in Sweden), the rockers achieve top positions in their Swedish homeland. In 2007, the Hellacopters announced that the band would be over after the album Head Off. The album is released in 2008 and reaches number 4, and the band goes on a major European tour as a farewell. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of their debut album Supershitty to the Max! the band reunites for several concerts and festivals. New studio material follows in 2022 with Eyes of Oblivion. The album jumps to number 1 in the charts in Sweden and also reaches top positions internationally, including number 3 in Germany. Two years later, the Hellacopters release the album Grande Rock Revisited. 2025 sees the release of Overdriver, which also reaches the top of the Swedish charts.
