The Hyènes formed in 2005 to compose the soundtrack for Albert Dupontel's film Enfermés dehors. Made up of Denis Barthe (drums, vocals) and Jean-Paul Roy (guitar), Noir Désir's rhythm section, and Olivier Mathios (bass) and Vincent Bosler (guitar, vocals), The Hyènes had no intention of doing more than a temporary gig. Faced with the demands and uncertainties surrounding Noir Désir's future, The Hyènes became a real band, performing live and releasing an album of the same name in 2009. Nourished by punk and French alternative rock, The Hyènes are not afraid to play seminal rock, which explodes on 2012's Peace and Loud .
