The Okee Dokee Brothers are a Minneapolis-based bluegrass duo specializing in family-friendly folk music. Bandmates Joe Mailander and Justin Lansing were both raised in Denver, where they bonded over a mutual love of American roots music and the great outdoors. After attending separate colleges, they reunited in Minneapolis and released their first Okee Dokee Brothers album, Kids with Beards, in 2008. Take It Outside and ¡Excelente Fabuloso! both appeared in 2010, but it was 2012's Can You Canoe? that truly elevated the band's career, earning the Okee Dokee Brothers a Grammy Award for Best Children's Album. The duo's next three releases — 2014's Through the Woods, 2016's Saddle Up, and 2018's Winterland — were nominated for the same award, with Songs for Singin' following in May 2020.
