The Raveonettes

Hailing from Denmark, The Raveonettes craft a polished alternative rock that borrows as much from 1960s pop as from 1990s American indie rock. Led by the charismatic singer Sharin Foo and the tenebrous Sune Rose Wagner (guitar, vocals), The Raveonettes released their breakthrough album Chain Gang of Love in 2003. The band returned in 2005 with Pretty in Black, then at the end of 2007 with Lust Lust Lust. In and Out of Control in 2009 and Raven in the Grave in 2010 precede the sixth album, Observator, released in 2012. In 2014, seventh album Pe'ahi blends surf music and sophisticated arrangements. Now based in Los Angeles, the band recorded 2016 Atomized (2017), before going into indefinite dormancy while Wagner worked on an unreleased album. Finally, the duo made a comeback in November 2020 with the single "Snowstorm", between two confinements linked to the Covid-19 pandemic. After this period, The Raveonettes returned to the stage in 2022 with the Whip It On EP, before returning to the studio for the covers album The Raveonettes Sing..., released in July 2024, featuring songs by Gram Parsons, The Everly Brothers, The Velvet Underground, Buddy Holly, The Shirelles, The Shangri-Las and Johnny Kidd & the Pirates. In 2025, the duo return with an original album, Pe'ahi II, following on from the first instalment released in 2014.
