Formed in 2002 in Brown County, Indiana, The Reverend Peyton's Big Band is a country band that blends a variety of styles and eras, from early American music to punk revivals. The band, named after its leader Reverend Peyton (vocals, guitar), includes his wife, "Washboard Breezy" Peyton (washboard) Peyton (washboard) and "Brother" Jacob Powell (drums), who replaced Max Senteney. Equipped with historic guitars such as a 1934 National or a reproduction of a 1929 Gibson, Reverend Peyton (b. 1981) and his musicians began touring the local scene and recorded a self-produced debut album, The Pork n' Beans Collection (2004), before signing with SideOneDummy Records, a label that has released several collections since The Whole Fam Damnily (2008), which reached No. 4 in the blues charts. In 2014, The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band signed with Shanachie Entertainment for the album So Delicious! (2015), then with Thirty Tigers for Front Porch Sessions (2017), ranked #2 in the blues charts, while Dance Songs for Hard Times reached #1 in 2021. In 2025, Honeysuckle follows (#9 in the blues charts).
