At the end of the 1980s, this Scottish band formed by Eugene Kelly and Frances McKee proposed a return to the roots of rock, which they saw as resolutely alternative. The Vaselines' existence was short-lived, but their lasting influence was established by the compilation The Way of The Vaselines (1992), which brought together their two EPs and their debut album, Dum-Dum (1989). The renewed interest generated by fan Kurt Cobain reawakened the duo's ardor, and they reactivated their discography with the albums Sex With An X in 2010 and V for Vaselines in 2014.
