Thurl Ravenscroft was a voice actor whose deep bass vocals were heard on many commercials in America for products such as Kellogg's Frosted Flakes and on attractions at the Disneyland theme park. He sings 'You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch' in the perennial seasonal television special 'Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas'. His career spanned several decades until his death aged 91 in California in 2005. He spent time in the vocal group The Melloman, who accompanied many singers in the 1930s and 1940s such as Rosemary Clooney, Bing Crosby and Jo Stafford. As a soloist, he appeared on Rosemary Clooney's chart-topping 1954 hit 'This Ole House'; provided the voice for one of the sailors in the film 'South Pacific', which produced a hit soundtrack album; and features with the Johnny Mann Singers on many of their recordings. His movie credits include 'Pinocchio' (1940), 'Dumbo' (1941), 'Peter Pan' (1953), 'Lady and the Tramp' (1955), 'One Hundred and One Dalmations' (1961), 'Mary Poppins' (1964), 'The Jungle Book' (1967), 'Bedknobs and Broomsticks' (1971), 'Hallowe'en is Grinch Night' (1977), 'The Brave Little Toaster' (1987), 'Superior Duck' (1996) and 'The Brave Little Toaster Goes to Mars' (1998).
