Formed in Glen Rock, New Jersey, in 2005, Titus Andronicus takes its name from a tragedy by William Shakespeare. Led by guitarist and singer Patrick Stickles, the punk-influenced band released their debut album The Airing of Grievances, inspired by the TV series Seinfeld, in 2008. It wasn't released in Europe until early the following year, followed in August by a performance at the La Route du Rock festival in Saint-Malo. Subsequent albums The Monitor (2010) and Local Business (2012) are accompanied by changes of musicians at each stage. In 2015, a renewed line-up delivers the concept album The Most Lamentable Tragedy.
