Robert F. Fox (October 11, 1991), aka Toby Fox, is an American composer and video game developer best known as the mastermind behind the RPGs Undertale and Deltarune. Born in Manchester, New Hampshire, he developed a passion for video games very early in his life. His earliest work, a Halloween-themed ROM hack of the RPG Earthbound, came out in 2008. A year later, Toby Fox wrote original music for Andrew Hussie’s webcomic Homestuck while still in high school. After developing and writing the score for the massively popular role-playing game Undertale in 2015, Toby Fox collaborated once again with Andrew Hussie by contributing material to Homestuck’s video game Hiveswap in 2017. Deltarune, the sequel to Undertale, arrived in 2019 as Toby Fox provided music to the soundtracks of Escaped Chasm (2019), Little Town Hero (2019), and Pokémon Sword & Shield (2019). A sequel to Deltarune, simply titled Deltarune: Chapter 2 was released in 2021. Its soundtrack included the track “My Castle Town,” which became quite popular amongst gamers around the world.
