Tomatito is not only a flamenco legend, but also a great guitarist in his own right. A pupil of Paco de Lucia and fellow traveler with Camarón de la Isla until the latter's death, Tomatito then embarked on a varied career that included his own albums and numerous collaborations. Rosas del Amor (1987), Barrio Negro (1991), Duquende y la Guitarra de Tomatito (1993) with Duquende, Spain (2000) with Michel Camilo, Paseo De Los Castaños (2001), Aguadulce (2004), Spain Again (2006) again with Michel Camilo, are the highlights of his discography. Eclectic, he tackles flamenco, rock and Latin jazz with the same enthusiasm and mastery. Anthology (1998-2008) takes a first look at his recordings, which he enhances in 2010 with Sonanta Suite, produced with the Spanish National Orchestra. Soy Flamenco summarizes his forty-five-year career in 2013.
