Tomok is the stage name of Malaysian vocalist Shah Indrawan bin Ismail, who gained fame as the teenaged frontman of the boy band New Boyz before launching a solo career with his self-titled album Tomok in 2010. He was born in Negeri Sembilan on May 17, 1984, and joined New Boyz at 15 years old. When the group broke up in 2008, Tomok auditioned for the third season of the televised singing competition One in a Million and ultimately became the show's first male winner. Tomok, his eponymous debut as a solo artist, was released in 2010, featuring several songs written by Tomok himself. A second studio album, Aku Datang, followed in 2014. Meanwhile, he also appeared in several films and television programs, starring in Mantera The Movie in 2012 and Suamiku Jururawat Isteriku Doktor in 2014. As the decade wore on, he focused more on his acting career than his musical projects, with roles in movies like 2019's TQ Captain and 2022's Overlap Then Bang maintaining his popularity in Malaysia.
