Torres

A deep, almost guttural female voice, capable of rising like a Japanese lantern in the darkness of a tormented rock that, behind the distortion, cannot hide its melodic instinct... These are all markers that Torres shares with PJ Harvey, whose influence is palpable in the deepest recesses of Sprinter, an album released in May 2015. Behind this stage name is Mackenzie Scott, a young American from Macon, Georgia. This is her second album after a self-produced debut effort recorded in five days in Tony Joe White's home studio, while she was still a student. This time, she has given herself the means of her ambition by crossing the Atlantic to join Adrian Utley of Portishead and Rob Ellis, drummer and producer of...PJ Harvey, convinced that they are supporting the new Amazon of intense independent rock.
