Indian percussion virtuoso Trilok Gurtu has had a prolific and eclectic career, to say the least. His list of jazz, world fusion and variety collaborations is almost inexhaustible, and includes Don Cherry, Terje Rypdal, John McLaughlin, Jan Garbarek, Claude Nougaro, Andy Summers, Neneh Cherry, Angélique Kidjo, Bill Laswell, Robert Miles, not to mention his participation in the groups Oregon (1987 to 1991) and Tabla Beat Science (1999 to 2003). His personal discography includes Glimpse (1997), The Beat of Love (2001), Farakala (2006), Arkeology (2007) and 21 Spices released in March 2011.
