Truck Stop is a country band from Germany founded in 1973. The band enjoyed great success with German-language country music, particularly in the 1970s. Truck Stop celebrated their breakthrough in 1978 with the single "Ich möcht' so gern Dave Dudley hör'n" from the album Zuhause (1977). The longplayer sells over 150,000 copies and the song climbs to number 20 in the German charts. In 1979, Truck Stop released another top hit with "Take It Easy, altes Haus", which reached number 32 in Germany. The year 1980 also brought another hit for Truck Stop. The song "Der wilde, wilde Westen" climbed to number 15 in Germany and even made it to number 4 in Austria. After that, things became quieter for the band. However, the 1982 longplayer Nicht zu bremsen! reaches number 3 in the German album charts once again. In 1986, Truck Stop composed the theme tune for the German TV series Großstadtrevier. After that, things became noticeably quieter for the country band. Truck Stop continue to regularly release albums for fans of German country music. The musicians repeatedly make it into the top 100 of the German charts. However, there are no longer any big hits. In 2021, Truck Stop achieved a top 10 position after a long time with the album Liebe, Lust & Laster at number 4. Two years later, the band celebrates its 50th birthday. To mark the anniversary, Truck Stop released 50 Years, a retrospective of their musical work to date.
