Tuerie, whose real name is Paul Nnazé, is a French rapper born in Yaoundé, Cameroon. His family emigrated to France when he was two, then returned to Cameroon before settling permanently in Boulogne-Billancourt when he was fourteen. He adopted the pseudonym Tuerie, inspired by an exclamation from the audience during a battle, when a female spectator shouted: "Eh mais c'est une tuerie". He began his career as part of the Capsule Corp collective, alongside Dinos and Luidji, and distinguished himself by his sincere, introspective style. In 2021, he released the Bleu Gospel EP, a project mixing rap, blues, gospel and jazz, in which he addresses his past marked by family trauma. On May 19, 2023, he unveiled the Papillon Monarque EP, an introspective nine-track opus exploring themes such as grief, mental health and masculinity. The project, which includes a collaboration with Hedges, is hailed for its emotional depth. Tuerie cites Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Phil Collins, Woodkid and Disiz among his inspirations. His musical style, combining gospel, jazz and rap influences, reflects a constant search for authenticity and richness of sound.
