Initially known as Tung Twista because of the breakneck pace of his rhymes, the Chicago rap star burst on the scene with debut album Runnin' Off At Da Mouth (1992) and was soon named in the Guinness Book of World Records as the planet's fastest rapper. He featured on Do Or Die's hit single Po Pimp' before founding the collective Speedknot Mobstaz and scoring his first US Number 1 with the single Slow Jamz, featuring Kanye West and Jamie Foxx. Chart-topping fourth album Kamikaze (2004) followed, producing the hits Overnight Celebrity and So Sexy, and he lent his lyrical skills to Trick Daddy's debut single Let's Go. Albums The Day After (2005), Adrenaline Rush (2007) and Category F5 (2009) all made the US Top 10 and his soulful grooves and rapid-fire flow led to collaborations with Mariah Carey, Monica and Pharrell Williams. Widely recognised as one of hip hop's most dynamic and influential artists, Twista is now grooming a new generation of stars on his own label Get Money Gang Entertainment.
