Uschi Brüning

Uschi Brüning (born March 4, 1947 in Leipzig) is a jazz and soul singer and songwriter from Germany. Uschi Brüning began her career in the 1960s with pop songs. She later decided to study singing professionally at the Friedrichshain music school in East Berlin. The singer first attracted attention with performances together with the actor and jazz singer Manfred Krug and the Günther Fischer Quintet. This collaboration resulted in the albums Uschi Brüning und das Günther-Fischer-Quintett (1972) and Uschi Brüning und Günther Fischer (1974). In the meantime, Uschi Brüning has become a welcome guest at various Jass festivals. Uschi Brüning again attracts greater attention through a collaboration with Manfred Krug. the joint album Auserwählt is released in 2014. The album climbs to number 54 in the German charts and wins the German Jazz Award in platinum. in 2020, Uschi Brüning releases the album Ich Mein Dich together with Susanne Betancor.
