Vincent Ingala

A musical prodigy who started out drumming on pots and pans at the age of three and was learning Elvis Presley songs by ear on the guitar just a few years later, Vincent Ingala went on to become a leading tenor saxophonist and one of the brightest young stars in the smooth jazz world. Raised in Prospect, Connecticut his father was a local DJ with a love of disco and a huge record collection, and the young Ingala naturally took to music and grew up performing for his large Italian family. Taking up the saxophone in fifth grade, he started out playing restaurants and clubs while still at high school and gained a scholarship to the Eastman School of Music Summer Jazz Program before being asked to open for platinum-selling saxophonist Dave Koz. He was still only 17 when he combined his love of soul, swing and pop into slick, melodic, smooth jazz on his debut album 'North End Soul' in 2010, and he was soon out playing with fusion guitarist Peter White, touring on cruise ships and starring at the Newport Jazz Festival. Defining his style as "instrumental R&B", his next album 'Can't Stop Me Now' was a statement of intent that showed Ingala's determination to make a name for himself and 'Coast to Coast', which followed in 2015, charted his life-changing move to Los Angeles, producing the single 'When I'm With You' which topped the Billboard Smooth Jazz Charts. He also worked with fellow saxophone players Marion Meadows and Paul Taylor as Sax in the City and released a Christmas record that featured guest appearances from Post Modern Jukebox singer Ariana Savalas, Elvis impersonator Justin Shandor and guitarist Steve Oliver before returning in 2018 with his fifth studio album 'Personal Touch' which Ingala engineered and produced himself.
