Viva Suecia

Formed in 2013 in Murcia, Viva Suecia is a Spanish indie rock band known for their emotionally charged sound and powerful live shows, fronted by vocalist Rafa Val alongside Alberto Cantúa (guitar), Jess Fabric (bass), and Fernando Campillo (drums). Their self-titled debut EP dropped just seven months after forming, catching the attention of Subterfuge Records, who released their first full-length album La Fuerza Mayor in 2016. A year later, Otros Principios Fundamentales solidified their place in Spain’s alternative scene, leading to appearances at major festivals like Mad Cool, Sonorama-Ribera, and FIB. In 2018, they became a household name with their emotive performance of "A dónde ir" on Late Motiv and were later named Best Spanish Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards. The success continued with 2019’s El Milagro, which peaked at number 2 in sales and led to a national tour, including a performance at Camp Nou. Their 2022 album El amor de la clase que sea, released under Universal Music Spain, saw high-profile collaborations with Luz Casal, Dani Fernández, and Leiva, producing standout tracks like "Justo cuando el mundo apriete." In 2023, they released "Últimas voluntades," part of a movie soundtrack, and continued their string of acclaimed singles through 2024 and 2025, including "La orilla" and "Dolor y gloria," which peaked at number 99 on the Spanish charts.
