R&B, pop crooning, and hip-hop beats in an attempt to capture the same urban audience. The group featured Mike G, Mech220, The H.R., David Cordova, James Cartagena, and Eric Serrano. Their first big break came when they opened for Mariah Carey on 12 dates of her 1993 tour. Their first recorded output was a cover of “Why Do Fools Fall In Love”, which was featured on the soundtrack to the movie Calendar Girl. When their manager was murdered, the band lost their sense of direction. By 1997, they were back on track, signing with H.O.L.A. Recordings, the label owned by producer/remixer Jellybean Benitez. They released their self-titled debut album in 1998, releasing three singles from the album but only “Say It” made it into the Top 10 on Billboard’s Hot 100 Singles chart. Four of the album’s tracks were produced and co-written by Boyz II Men’s Michael McCary. After the release of the album, the group quietly split up. It was announced in 2018 that four of the original six members had reunited and were working on new music.
