Canadian DJ and producer Caroline Cecil (25 December 1992) has been producing a vibrant blend of electronica and hip-hop under her Whipped Cream moniker since 2014. Born in Toronto, Ontario, she grew up in Vancouver Island and her initial ambitions consisted of becoming a professional figure skater. After a severe injury cut her career short, she found solace in music. In the following years, she taught herself how to use music production software and released her first single in 2014. Her debut EP Law of Attraction saw the light in 2015, followed by the EP Mirrors with Hekler and Persistence in 2017. Subsequent singles “LUV” and “Blood” came out in 2018 and made quite an impact on the electronic music scene. By 2019, Whipped Cream had already released a handful of singles on Diplo’s Mad Decent label and made appearances at Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, and other festivals. In 2020, her song “So Thick” featuring Baby Goth was included in the original soundtrack for the superhero film Birds of Prey and her major-label debut EP Who Is Whipped Cream? arrived via Atlantic imprint Big Beat Records. One year later, she teamed up with fellow producer Jimorrow for the dance track “Light of Mine,” which reached Number 49 on the Brazilian Top 100. She moved to Monstercat for 2023 EP Someone You Can Count On and in February 2024 teamed up with rapper Fourfive for the single "Who's Laughing Now." Summer 2024 also saw the release of the emotionally driven EP is this real? on which she documented her dad's cancer diagnosis, among other personal topics.
