Wingenfelder is a German pop duo consisting of the brothers Kai and Thorsten Wingenfelder. Kai Wingenfelder was born in Hamburg on November 26, 1959, while Thorsten Wingenfelder's exact date of birth is not publicly known. The band was founded on April 28, 2010 and is musically active in the genre of German-language pop rock. The brothers are also known as founding members of the successful German rock band Fury in the Slaughterhouse. As Wingenfelder, they have released several albums that have been successful in the German charts. Their debut album Besser zu zweit was released in 2011 and reached number 35 in the German album charts. Further successful albums followed, including Selbstauslöser (2013, number 23), Sieben Himmel hoch (2018, number 9) and Sendeschlusstestbild (2020). Her best-known singles include "Wenn die Zeit kommt" (2012, number 36), "Hey Cowboy" (2015) and "Verlieb Dich nicht in Mich" (2018). Their latest and final album Schlicht und ergreifend will be released on October 18, 2024, accompanied by the single "Wetten dass". The band announces its end in 2024 and then goes on a farewell tour in the fall of the same year. In addition to their music careers, the brothers are also active in other creative fields. Kai Wingenfelder runs a film production company and is active as a producer, while both brothers also work as songwriters for other artists.
