Winner are a South Korean boy band who burst onto the K-pop scene after a being put through the ringer on reality TV Winner first came together in 2013 on the Korean TV talent contest 'Who Is Next: WIN'. The group performed together as Team A with an initial line-up which included Lee Seung-hoon, Kang Seung-yoon (who had previously appeared on the Mnet singing contest 'Superstar K2'), Song Min-ho, Kim Jin-woo and Nam Taehyun. The group won and debuted as Winner, performing as the opening act for Big Bang on their arena tour. Their own ten-episode reality TV show, 'Winner TV', followed. In 2014 the group released their debut album, '2014 S/S', which included the singles 'Empty' and 'Color Ring'. It was a huge success, hitting number one on the Billboard Top World Albums chart. Winner nearly repeated the trick with their follow-up EP, 2016's 'Exit', but the release fell just short and peaked at number two. Following the release it was announced that Taehyun would be taking a leave of absence from Winner, and in November it was confirmed that he would be departing the group, with Winner continuing as a four-piece. In 2018 the group's second full-length album, 'Everyd4y', was released, topping the South Korean Album chart and peaking at number six on the Billboard Top World Albums chart.
