Daniel Wirtz, known as Wirtz, (born October 19, 1975 in Heinsberg) is a singer and songwriter from Germany. The artist became better known in 1999 as the frontman and singer of the band Sub7even. Since 2007, he has released and toured exclusively as a solo artist together with his band under his stage name Wirtz. Wirtz's musical style is alternative rock and rock. His debut album 11 Zeugen was released in 2008 and reached number 16 in the German charts. The successor Erdling followed a year later. Wirtz celebrated his breakthrough as a solo artist with the album Akustik Voodoo in 2011, which reached number 5 in the German Top 10. This was followed by appearances at the Rock am Ring, Rock im Park, Taubertal-Festival, Deichbrand and Open Flair festivals. After the album Unplugged (2014), Wirtz's fame increases through his participation in the successful TV format Sing meinen Song - Das Tauschkonzert in 2015. In the same year, his album Auf die Plätze, fertig, los is released and shoots to number 6 in Germany. In 2017, Wirtz even gets his own TV show with One Night Song - Blind Date im Wirtz-Haus. The next album, Die fünfte Dimension, follows at the end of the year and reaches number 3 in the German charts. In 2020, he released another acoustic album, Unplugged II (number 3 in Germany). Wirtz then took a short creative break. At the beginning of 2024, the artist returns with his next album DNA and enters the German charts at number 4.
