South Korean rapper Woo Won Jae, also known by the stage name Woo, was born on December 23, 1996, in Gyeongju. He initially gained attention as a contestant on the sixth season of the rap competition show Show Me the Money. There, he finished in third place, which established him in the public eye. Following his participation in the show, Woo Won Jae signed with the hip-hop label AOMG and released his debut single "We Are," featuring Gray and Loco, which earned him commercial success. He released the single album Anxiety in November of that year. He won the Hip Hop Track of the Year award for "We Are" at the 2017 Korean Hip-Hop Awards. In 2018, he released his first EP, af, featuring the track "a fence" and the pre-released song "Cash." In August 2020, Woo Won Jae released his first studio full-length album, Black Out, which included the pre-release single "Used To." Black Out peaked at number 31 on the Korean charts. Two years later, in 2022, he released his second EP, comma. In March 2024, Woo Won Jae's contract with AOMG expired, and he co-founded a new label, Duover, with Gray and Code Kunst.
