Wool & The Pants

Wool & The Pants, a Tokyo-based trio, made their mark with the debut EP Wool In The Pool released under the PPU label. Formed by Yu Tokumo on guitar and vocals, Kento Enokida on bass, and Aki Nakagomi on drums, the group was first spotted in 2017 by Mad Love. The band draws heavily from a diverse range of influences including Japanese and international artists like Jagatara, Kimidori, Daisuke Tobari, Sakana, Think Tank, Les Rallizes Denudes, and ECD, as well as globally recognized figures such as Haruomi Hosono, Can, Syd Barrett, Laraaji, and SunRa. Their music, a blend of these eclectic influences, showcases a rich tapestry of sound that has been evolving since Tokumo began his musical journey back in 2008. The album Not Fun in the Summertime (2024) showcases their unique style that intertwines traditional rock elements with experimental sounds, creating a distinct musical experience that stands out in the vibrant Tokyo music scene.
