Wretch 32

Jermaine Sinclair, aka Wretch 32, started out with rap crews Combination Chain Gang and The Movement and built a following on pirate radio and through a collection of highly sought after mixtapes. The son of a reggae DJ, he was nicknamed Wretch by his mother and added his lucky number 32 before being signed up by Ministry of Sound's record label and making guest appearances on tracks by Devlin, Bashy and Chipmunk. His debut album 'Wretchrospective' (2008) further enhanced his credentials within the hip-hop world, but his commercial breakthrough came with the hit singles 'Traktor', 'Unorthodox' and the UK number one 'Don't Go'. His second album 'Black and White' (2011) reached number four and featured appearances from Etta Bond and Ed Sheeran. After touring with Example he cemented his reputation as one of the UK's hottest young rappers by starring in Adidas's advertising campaigns at the 2012 London Olympics. He returned with his third studio album 'Growing Over Life' in 2016. It peaked at number five on the UK Albums Chart and included the singles '6 Words', which hit number one on the UK Indie Chart and number eight on the UK Singles Chart, and 'I.O.U.' featuring Emeli Sandé. The album was quickly followed in 2017 with 'FR32', which was also successful in the UK Albums Chart, reaching number 12. His fifth studio album, 'Upon Reflection', was released in 2019 and included appearances from Giggs, Ghetts and Burna Boy. It was followed by the release of his first autobiographical book, 'Rapthology'.
