Wyatt Flores

A Mexican-American singer from Stillwater, Oklahoma, Wyatt Flores was born on June 29, 2001, and made his debut as a country-inspired Americana artist with the single "Travelin' Kid" in 2021. At the time, he truly was a kid, releasing the single at 19 years old and taking his musical influences from artists like Jason Isbell, Tyler Childers, and fellow Oklahoma-based artists the Turnpike Troubadours. With its acoustic arrangement and rootsy melody, "Travelin' Kid" laid the foundation for the sound Flores continued to explore on later releases, including singles like "Please Don't Go" and "Losing Sleep." Released in 2022, "Please Don't Go" also appeared on the songwriter's first EP, The Hutson Sessions, and became a viral hit, racking up more than 70 million digital streams on Spotify alone. Meanwhile, "Losing Sleep" enjoyed significant popularity on streaming services, too, earning 20 million streams on Spotify and prompting Flores to release a new version of the song, "Losing Sleep (Revisited)," in 2023. Also arriving in 2023 was the songwriter's second EP, Life Lessons. The EP's arrival reignited interest in Flores' previously-released material, too, which helped catapult "Please Don't Go" onto the Billboard charts during the year's final stretch. The song appeared on Billboard's Top 50 Country Songs in November, debuting at number 43 and climbing to number 42 one week later. In 2024, Wyatt Flores took a break from performing, citing problems of mental health and the impostor syndrome. Back later that year, he opened up about it in his third EP Half Life, followed by his first full-length album Welcome to the Plains (2024).
