XDinero

X Dinero is a ska-rock band from Arequipa, Peru, formed in 1997 after the dissolution of the prog-rock group Baretto. Led by vocalist Roni Carbajal, the group gained regional recognition with their fusion of rock, reggae, and ska, delivering an upbeat and irreverent sound. Their debut album, 1997's Triste Realidad, was well-received in southern Peru, earning them a solid fanbase. However, it was their second album, 1999's Por las Huevas, that propelled them to national prominence, even reaching audiences in Bolivia and other parts of Latin America. This album featured some of their biggest hit songs, including "Ella Besa Así" and "Mamá No Me Quiero Casar," the latter of which was accompanied by a popular music video. The band's signature blend of catchy melodies and satirical lyrics, particularly in tracks like "Photo Vegetal," showcases their playful yet thoughtful approach to music. Despite facing challenges in breaking through Lima’s competitive music scene, X Dinero became a beloved act, known for their energetic performances and ability to engage crowds across the region. Tocar Fondo y Brillar, XDinero's third full-length album, arrived in 2013.
