TenTwenty is a Japanese band originally formed under the name XIIX in Tokyo in 2019 by guitarist/vocalist Hirokazu Saito (UNISON SQUARE GARDEN) and bassist Yu Sudo (formerly of U&DESIGN and ARDBECK). The duo, who previously collaborated through Saito’s "SK's Session" live series, created the band as a creative outlet for Saito’s compositions that didn’t fit into his main group. Saito handles most of the songwriting in TenTwenty, allowing a more personal and expressive approach. Under the name XIIX, they released their debut album White White in 2020, followed by USELESS in 2021 and a self-titled third album in 2023. They gained notable recognition for their track "Akashi", which served as an ending theme for the anime Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai. The band has also collaborated with artists like actress Ai Hashimoto, SKY-HI, and Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra’s Atsushi Yanaka. In 2025, they rebranded as TenTwenty to increase accessibility and better reflect their music. On March 19, 2025, they released their first EP under the new name, titled BORDER=BORDER. The change marks a new chapter in their career as they continue to evolve both musically and visually for a broader audience.
