Born Josephine Eusebio Constantino-Asuncion on December 4, 1988, in Rodriguez, Rizal, Philippines, the pop / Pinoy rock singer and songwriter is better known by her stage name Yeng Constantino. One of the most popular artists in the Philippine music industry, she first came to prominence in 2006 when she was crowned ‘Grand Star Dreamer’ on the first season of popular talent show Pinoy Dream Academy. While she appeared on several of the Pinoy Dream Academy Originals soundtracks in 2006, she made her first official solo bow with her multi-platinum selling debut full-length album Salamat (2007). The album was an enormous success and went triple platinum in the Philippines and contained six Top 10 hits including “Cool Off,” “Time In,” and the title track. Her next album, Journey (2009), was also a success, although it didn’t achieve the same amount of success as her debut. While still continuing as a solo artist, between 2008 and 2010, Yeng Constantino was also a member of female pop group Y.R.S. Her third solo album, Lapit, was released in 2009 and returned her to platinum status, as did her live album Yeng Versions Live (2011). Her 2013 album Metamorphosis was a slight commercial disappointment, and she began to expand her musical horizons on the 2014 album All About Love. After celebrating her 10-year anniversary as one of the Philippines’ most successful artists, she joined girl group DIVAS in 2016. Yeng Constantino’s sixth studio album, Synesthesia, was released in 2018 and included the hit singles “Pinipigil” and “Ako Muna.” Over the course of her career, she collaborated with many artists – including Matoma, Sarah Geronimo, Spongecola, Enchong Dee, and Coach Jungee – and appeared on many compilations and soundtracks.
