Japanese composer, music arranger and bassist Yoshihiro Ike was born in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan on August 25, 1963. Best known for his work on film, television, anime and video game scores, he has composed more than 100 songs over the past 20 years. In 1985, he formed AIKE BAND, with the band's first and only album In the First Sense appearing in 1987, collaborating as a bassist on American guitarist David T. Walker's album Ahimsa the following year. Working on several television, movie and anime soundtracks including Kyoto Meikyuu Annai (television series), Shin Megami Tensei: Tokyo Revelation (anime series) and Rasen (film), his film score for Blood: The Last Vampire was nominated for the UK Music Awards, and awarded highly at the Japan Media Arts Festival in 2000 and 2001, respectively. His award-winning streak continued for several years, taking the Gold Winner prize at the 2007 London International Awards for his commercial work, followed by the Japan Media Arts prize for K-tai Investigator 7 the next year. In 2012, he was awarded the Outstanding Achievement in Music award at the 35th Japan Academy Film Prize for his soundtrack to The Detective Is in the Bar. After the success of his first compilation album Yoshihiro the BEST – 20th Anniversary Selection (2007), Ike released 51-track compilation album, Yoshihiro Ike Works 2006-2016 in 2016, and from 2019, worked predominantly on anime soundtracks including popular titles Shadowverse (2020), (Takt Op. Destiny) (2021) and Tiger & Bunny 2 (2022); the third instalment in the popular Tiger & Bunny franchise which aired on Netflix on April 8, 2022.
