Argentinian-born trap artist Ysy A got his start under the name Alejo organising the biggest freestyle competition in Latin America and now, years later, has a following as an artist in his own right. Ysy A began organising The Fifth Step back in 2012, modelling it in the style of events like Halabalusa or the freestyle battles of Las Vegas. Muphasa came on board a few months into the event and The Fifth Step was soon pulling in crowds of spectators, prompting it to move to a bigger venue. The event brought artists such as Duki, Ecko, Paulo Londra, Dani, Lit Killah and Iacho to the world of Latin American hip-hop and Ysy A developed his craft alongside them. In 2017 he put his first freestyle single, 'Dame Droga', online and began to really define himself as one of the key artists on the scene. His collaboration with Duki, C.R.O, Kaktov and Neo Pistea, 'Handsome', attracted further attention, racking up more than one million views on YouTube in its first week. An Argentinian tour with Duki and Neo Pistea followed in 2018, selling out the Teatro Gran Rex theatre in Buenos Aires and cementing his position in the Latin American trap scene.
