Born on February 27, 1999 in the Cameroonian town of Édéa, Franck Ewangue came to prominence in the country's music scene in the second half of the 2010s under the pseudonym Zamazu. Immersed in a musical culture from an early age with a musician father, Zamazu chose to abandon his university studies in 2015 to devote himself fully to his passion. He began by covering tracks by major African producers of the 2000s, including DJ Arafat, before gaining confidence and inserting himself into the mbolé movement that swept through Cameroon's popular youth from the 2010s onwards. He unveiled his first single, "Le mbolé", in 2021, whose steady electronic rhythms seduced an audience on the lookout for new talent. After "L'eau du mbolé " (2022), his track "L'enfant de qui?" released in 2023 placed him a little further into this new emerging musical style.
