Zelo is a South Korean rapper, singer, and dancer. He was born Choi Jun-hong on October 15, 1996, in Mokpo, South Korea. He began practicing beatboxing and dancing at home and was introduced to Joy Dance - Plug In Music Academy in Gwangju at a young age. He was accepted as a trainee at TS Entertainment. Zelo's music career took off with the sub-unit Bang&Zelo, collaborating with Bang Yong-guk to release "Never Give Up" in December 2011. He rose to prominence as a member of the idol sextet B.A.P, debuting in January 2012 and quickly gaining recognition as the group's main rapper. B.A.P was successful and exposed Zelo to a broader audience. In 2018, Zelo departed B.A.P and embarked on a solo career. He signed with A Entertainment in January 2019 and released his debut mini-album Distance (2018), followed by Day2Day in 2020. That year, Zelo released the single "Shower" and later signed with Uzurocks. In 2023, he released the EP ENOUGH, consisting of 4 songs with a smooth R&B sound as well as a deliberate musical cohesion. The extended play peaked at number 59 on the South Korean Top 100.
